Out of 60,396 applicants from more than 7,500 institutions worldwide, 26 University of Kansas students have been selected for the 2025 Millennium Fellowship, a leadership development program overseen by the Millennium Campus Network in partnership with United Nations Academic Impact.

For their outstanding contributions, several members of the University Honors Program community were recognized during the program’s Honors Convocation on Aug. 17. The program pursues a mission to challenge students to launch extraordinary lives through exceptional classes, advising and interdisciplinary opportunities.

Interning at a nonprofit organization can offer students a unique and eye-opening perspective into post-graduate opportunities they might want to pursue — an experience perfectly illustrated by Paige Hinca and Sev Tatli’s honors internships in spring 2024.

Mary Klayder's decades-long career, which concludes this May, has touched thousands of lives, most notably through her student-centered approach that has redefined what mentorship can mean in a university setting.

The 22 selected students to be part of the program's 44th cohort receive a scholarship, are assigned a faculty mentor to support their academic endeavors and engage with a topic of contemporary interest as part of an interdisciplinary seminar course.
