Biography

Anne Kretsinger-Harries is a rhetorical scholar who specializes in public address, public memory, and propaganda. Her research explores the rhetoric of public commemorations and the controversies that surround them. As a teacher, she strives to help students grow as communicators and critical consumers of rhetoric in their daily lives. Beyond the classroom, she provides science communication coaching for the Madison & Lila Self Graduate Programs at KU. Born and raised in Kansas, Dr. Kretsinger-Harries is a proud alumna of KU and the University Honors Program, and she earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania State University.
