Honors Alumni Voices: Tomas Green

"While at KU, I was deeply involved with the Dole Institute of Politics and their Student Advisory Board. As a member of SAB, I was exposed to senior leaders from government, Congress, media, and campaigns. I got comfortable talking to people in the world of politics and policy, which was so different from my day to day as an engineering student. And importantly, I developed an appreciation for working in bipartisan spaces and developing consensus on issues that are difficult to align on. Today, I work in government affairs for a clean energy organization, the Corporate Energy Buyers Association. I am consistently in bipartisan, deal-making spaces, fostering consensus on legislation that will benefit both the climate and U.S. competitiveness. I do not believe I would be where I am today without the Dole Institute and KU Honors Program fostering the experiences I had as an undergrad."
