Honors Alumni Voices: Kit Leffler

"I received an Honors Opportunity Award to create a series of short films. Throughout this process, I experimented with editing techniques, such as cuts, transitions, and music, to shape the viewer’s perception of time. This project laid the foundation for my thesis stop-motion animation and played a key role in my successful application to the University of Edinburgh’s master’s program in contemporary art. Today, collaboration and project management remain central to my academic career. I work with scientists to visually communicate research for publication and aim to inspire change through cultural exchange using interdisciplinary approaches at the intersection of art and science. My practice spans drawing, printmaking, and performance — all grounded in a deep curiosity about the natural world and how we move through it."
