Welcome to the Honors Community!
Orientation is your next step toward joining both the broader Jayhawk Community and the close-knit Honors community you are now a part of. We appreciate your flexibility this year, as we’re committed to ensuring the health and well-being of everyone in our community. For this reason, orientation is happening in an online-only format.
Honors will be a part of your online orientation with KU. Ahead of your orientation date, we encourage you to navigate through this section of our website to get a better feel for the Honors program and what to expect at Orientation. Click through the Faculty Spotlight and FAQ tabs to get to know some of your future professors and how they help challenge you to launch extraordinary lives — and to get answers to your questions. Watch our AIM to hear from students about their experiences — and to make sure that you have everything you need for a successful advising appointment.
The mission of the University Honors Program is to challenge students to launch extraordinary lives. From convocation to commencement, we strive to foster a transformational community of critical thinkers, a community that is diverse, highly qualified, engaged, and motivated to lead. Your time at KU and in the Honors Program will be focused on academic engagement, innovative and interdisciplinary learning, and your personal call to answer the challenge of becoming an engaged citizen. Orientation is your first step on this journey: Welcome to KU!
