Statement Against White Supremacy

Dear Honors students and faculty,

The University of Kansas Honors Program condemns the acts of domestic terrorism committed by white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend. We were sickened by these displays of racism, and we stand against all who espouse and practice discrimination and violence toward historically marginalized communities.

We will not tolerate ideologies of racism and white supremacist culture within the Honors community. We pledge to support and defend members of minoritized communities whenever and wherever possible.

Please know that we are committed to making every single member of the KU community feel safe, respected, and valued. If you are suffering in light of these recent events, know that you can reach out to us for support.

As you return to campus, please know that we will do whatever we can to remain a diverse, inclusive, and safe space for you and all members of our community.
