Camila Ordóñez Vargas
Camila Ordóñez Vargas (she/her/hers) is a junior from Barranquilla, Colombia, double-majoring in Economics and Political Science. Camila currently represents international students as the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in Student Senate. She also works as a Marketing Intern for the KU Memorial Union, where she assembles data on customer demographics and creates social media plans. Camila is pursuing the Global Awareness Program Certificate (GAP). This summer, Camila interned at Mastercard in San Fransico, and this semester she is studying abroad in France at the Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. Camila has served as the Service Chair on the Student Advisory Board of the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics. During the summer of her freshman year, Camila interned in Washington D.C., where she engaged in research on criminal justice reform, immigration, defense, and property rights to write and publish articles on these issues. Camila has served as a tutor for the Academic Achievement and Access Center (AAAC) and the TRIO SES & STEM PROGRAM for Spanish and Political Science courses.
