The How To Series: Workshops for Success

In collaboration with the Career Center and other units on campus, the University Honors Program puts on workshops designed to help Honors students translate their knowledge and skills into future success, whether they're applying for internships, first jobs, graduate school, or professional school.


Perfect Your Resume

Friday, September 11, 2015, 3:30 p.m.

A well-made resume can make a great first impression with prospective employers. This workshop will help you understand the value of a resume or C.V., examine different resume formats, and provide you with the tools needed to write a "top-of-the-pile" resume.


Crafting Your Cover Letter

Even seasoned professionals can struggle with writing effective cover letters. This workshop will provide you with a better understanding of the function and importance of cover letters and provide some very important tools and pointers for crafting a professional cover letter.


Internships with Westar Energy

Meet with a group of Westar Energy executives to learn more about internship opportunities with one of the largest employers in the area. Internships are available for most if not all majors--whether you're studying the liberal arts, engineering, or business, learn more about where a University Honors degree can take you at Westar.

You got the internship--congratulations! Now learn how to make the most of your intern experience. Join us to learn about business etiquette, how to connect with your co-workers, and how to shape your internship experience to your advantage by pursuing projects and challenges.
