Born and raised in Strasbourg, France, I moved to the U.S. (Michigan, then Kansas) in my early 20s as a doctoral candidate in American civilization at the University of Strasbourg.
I grew up in New Hampshire and later attended the University of Kansas where I studied biology. I then attended the Vermont Law School and later worked in law and business for 10 years.
I'm a native Kansan and a graduate of the KU Honors Program (B.A. English, Humanities 2006). After graduating from KU, I earned an MFA at the Pennsylvania State University in creative writing.
