Sam Steuart (he/him/his) is a sophomore from Topeka, Kansas on the pre-medical track studying American studies and biochemistry, with a minor in Spanish. He is currently involved with Chemistry Club, DNA Day, the Honors Program Student Council, Phi Delta Epsilon (a Premedical fraternity), and Student Senate. This semester, Sam works as a Peer-Led Undergraduate Supplement (PLUS) Leader for Chemistry 130 and Chemistry 170 and researches protein-surface interactions on the nanoscale level in Dr. Cindy Berrie’s lab. He enjoys volunteering at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and serving as a Health Navigator for the CCO. In the Honors Program, Sam serves as a Peer Mentor and Seminar Assistant for Professor Lynn Villafuerte’s Honors Seminar dedicated to highlighting the importance of and creating science outreach programs. He has traveled abroad on the London Review and the Hospital Shadowing in Spain program, and absolutely loves talking about his experiences, so please feel free to ask him about them. Most importantly, Sam is someone who loves to talk to anyone from any major, background, or discipline, so, if you ever need help, please know that he will happily be there for you!
