Michael Wade Smith is a 2011 graduate of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with degrees in English Literature and American Studies. Currently, Michael is a professional speaker and, as part of the national service corps Teach For America, a public high school English teacher in Newark, New Jersey. While at the University of Kansas, Michael served as the Student Body President. Through the KU Honors Program, he was able to interact with our finest faculty and students in a small, discussion-based learning environment that made his college experience one that has equipped him with the skills to be successful as a teacher, speaker, and future business leader.
